BLOCK X BLOCK | CATALOG DESIGN
Block by Block Catalogue was a design project created for the Rijksmuseum, conceptualizing a rental program called RENT RIJKS. The idea was to give the public access to historical woodcut prints through a catalogue that felt both functional and artistic.
The catalogue guides readers through the process step by step: browsing featured works, selecting pieces, filling out an order form, and arranging delivery. The design merges clarity with creativity, balancing structured layouts with illustrated elements that connect back to the textures of woodcut art.
The standout feature is The Gallery of Sleep, a section that highlights woodcut prints in a way that feels immersive and modern. Each spread was built to showcase the artwork clearly while still giving the catalogue its own identity.
This project demonstrates how print design can make art more accessible. By reimagining the catalogue as both a guide and a visual experience, Good God Graphics created a piece that engages audiences while reflecting the prestige of the Rijksmuseum.
